Book-A Series of Unfortunate Events:The Austere Academy
Author:Lemony Snicket
I read pages 1-10
Quote:"The Baudelaire's trouble began one day when they were relaxing at the beach and recived distressing news that their parents have been killed in a terrible fire, and so were sent to live with a distant relative named Count Olaf. If you were going to give a gold medal to Count Olaf, you would to lock it someplace before the award ceremony, because Count Olaf was such a greedy and evil man that he would try to steal it beforehand. "
Reaction:" It's so sad that the Baudelaire's lost their parents. And now they have to live with their evil distant relative."

I read pages 10-20
Quote:"On the arch were the words "PRUFROCK PREPARTORY SCHOOL" in enormous blcak letters, and then, in smaller letters, the motto of the school, Memento Mori. The Baudelaires each building looked exactly like a gravestone. . . . . . . . " If I'm not mistaken, " said Klaus, who was really mistaken, "Momento Mori means " Remember you will die. "
Reaction:" Wow, what a creepy school! I feel sad that they have to go there, but what other choice do they have."

I read pages 20-30
Quote:" Thank yo very much, and welcome to Prufrock Prepartory School, blah blah blah, (Said principal Nero) I'm certainly doing M.r Poe a favor in taking on three orphans in such short notice. He assured means that you won't cause many trouble, but I did a little research of my own. You've been sent to legal guardian after legal guardian, and adversity have always followed. `Adversity` means `trouble` , by the way."
Reaction:" What a cruel man. How did he even get this job of being Princible? Does schools hate children? Or only prepartory schools? "

November 13,2008
I read pages 30-40
Quote:"The first detail thet the Baudelaires noticed was that the shack was infested with small crabs, each one about the size of a matchbox, scurrying around the wooden floor with their tiny claws snapping in the air. . . . . . . when the children sat down on a bail of hay and sat down, tucking their legs to avoid the snapping crabs, they looked up in the ceiling and saw another detail that Nero had neglected to mention. Some sort of fungus was growing on the ceiling, a fugus that was light tan and quite damp. "
Reaction:"Wow. It's bad enough that their parents died and that they had to move to that prepatory school, but now they have to live in a dump!! "

November 14,2008
I read pages 40-50
Quote:"It's nice to meet you", said the boy. My name is Duncan Quagmire, and this is my sister Isadora. And the girl who was yelling at you, I'm sorry to say, was Carmalitta Spat. "
Reaction:" It's good that the Baudalaires are making friends. So now they're not lonley and they have alot of things in common. "
